Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Lagooners, a free community for residents of DAMAC Lagoons run by the Lagooners volunteer team. By creating an account you agree to them, to the house rules and to our privacy policy.

Who can join

• You must be 18 or over and live at, own or be moving into a villa at DAMAC Lagoons.
• You must verify your villa with a genuine document, and keep your details accurate.
• One account per person. Family members join through your household invitation.
• Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.

Being a good neighbour

Follow the house rules. In particular, don’t post anything that is unlawful in the UAE, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, misleading, or that shares someone else’s personal information without their permission. No spam, no commercial advertising outside the places meant for it, and no photos of people who haven’t agreed to be shared.

What you post

• You keep ownership of what you post. You give Lagooners permission to store it and show it to the neighbours you chose, for as long as it’s on the site.
• Only post what you have the right to share.
• You can delete your posts, and your whole account, at any time.

Between neighbours

Lagooners helps residents find each other. It isn’t a party to anything you arrange, and we don’t check people, items or services. That includes marketplace sales, lending, babysitting, house watch, skills swaps, services, games and events. Use your own judgement, meet safely, and agree the details with each other. Staff collections are pledges only; no money passes through Lagooners.

Moderation

Volunteer moderators may hide content that breaks these terms or the house rules, send warnings, and admins may suspend or close accounts. We’ll tell you why, and you can reply if you think we got it wrong.

The service

Lagooners is run by volunteers and provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error free. As far as UAE law allows, we aren’t liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from dealings between residents.

Lagooners is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to DAMAC Properties.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes. You can stop using Lagooners and delete your account at any time.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
